Alleging that the Interim Union Budget has ignored the most important issues concerning the employees, the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) on Thursday threatened to go on a nationwide strike on February 16.

AISGEF National President Subhash Lamba expressed “strong displeasure” over the Budget saying demands like restoration of old pension scheme, regularisation of contract workers, formation of eighth pay commission, release of 18 months’ outstanding DA, DR and stopping of privatisation drive, besides filling of vacant posts, have been “ignored”.

He said crores of workers across the country are “deeply disappointed,” and would give a “befitting reply” by going on a nationwide strike on February 16.

Lamba, while reacting to the budget, said it seems that the employees and their demands are not on the agenda of the Narendra Modi government.

He urged the employees to ensure the success of the nationwide strike.
