Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will travel to Egypt on Monday to take part in an international summit dedicated to ending the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the prime minister’s spokeswoman, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, said.
On Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi’s office said that the summit would take place on October 13 and would bring together leaders from more than 20 countries. The event will be co-chaired by Sisi and US President Donald Trump.
“Pashinyan will leave for a working visit to Egypt on October 13. The Armenian Prime Minister, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi, will participate in the Middle East peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh,” Baghdasaryan said in a statement.
At the same time, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed news outlet reported, citing a source, that the leadership of the Palestinian National Authority had not been invited to the summit.
