The Bharatiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir unit on Thursday urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to lead an all-party anti-terrorism rally at Lal Chowk, calling for a united political front against violence in the Valley.
In a statement, the BJP said condemnations and condolences alone were not enough and that the Union Territory must send out a clear message that every individual in Jammu and Kashmir stands firmly against militancy. The party said political differences can wait but the fight against terror cannot be delayed.
The BJP appealed to all parties, communities and citizens to join shoulder to shoulder in a collective march for peace and dignity. It reiterated that terror has no religion, no region and no space in society.
The party said a united call from Lal Chowk would resonate across the country and strengthen efforts toward securing a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir. (CNS)
