BJP has pushed country to a bleak future: Akhilesh

Lucknow, May 8 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has utterly failed on the economic front and has pushed the country towards a bleak future.
In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said that under the BJP government, inflation is rising every day. Under the BJP rule, which sells dreams of “good days”, the back of the common man has been broken badly.
He said that after the hike in prices of petrol-diesel, CNG hike, now medicines, food items, transportation everything has become dearer. “Due to the economic policies of the BJP, the income of every household has reduced, unemployment is increasing, businesses are at a standstill. BJP has pushed the country towards a bleak future,” he said.

The SP chief said that now the gas cylinder has become costlier by Rs 50. “The manner in which prices of cooking gas are increasing has seriously impacted the domestic economy. It is the result of rising inflation that education of a large number of children has been hampered due to non-payment of fees,” he said.

Akhilesh said that just now the Reserve Bank has announced to increase its repo rates. “Many banks have made home-car loans costlier. This will increase the EMI burden which will worsen the condition of lakhs of borrowers. Along with this, there has been a huge increase in the prices of medicines.

The prices of medicines for many serious diseases have increased by 20 to 30 percent. Patients of diseases like diabetes-heart and cancer have to take medicine every day. There is a shortage of antibiotics and steroid medicines,” he alleged.
