Panic gripped a Budgam village in Kashmir, which is home to some minority families, after a loud explosion was heard early Saturday.
A police spokesman said preliminary investigation suggested some unexploded old shell in old building material and scrap piled up there might have exploded, causing the loud sound.
“No injury reported. Further investigation into the incident is going on,” the spokesman said.
The loud sound was heard by the residents of Kralpora around 7.45 am.
Senior officers including SSP Budgam rushed to the area after the explosion, police said.
