A vibrant cultural festival- Shaam-e-Shafqat, celebrating India’s rich and diverse heritage, was held in Pattan Baramulla on Thursday.
Jointly organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Indian Army, the festival brought together renowned artists from Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Manipur and Odisha, who enthralled the audience with captivating performances reflecting the depth and diversity of India’s folk traditions, an official release stated.
The day-long programme featured a colourful blend of folk dances, traditional music and cultural expressions from different regions of the country. Each performance highlighted the unique cultural identity of its region while collectively portraying the spirit of India’s unity in diversity.
The energetic performances created a festive atmosphere and instilled a sense of patriotism and national pride among the audience.
Organisers said the festival aimed to preserve, promote and popularise India’s cultural heritage while strengthening cultural bonds among the youth of North Kashmir and the rest of the country.
The event was attended by students and members of civil society from North Kashmir. The audience responded with applause, reflecting appreciation for the initiative and its message of cultural integration and national unity.
