Director SKIMS lauds nurses for their significant contribution during Covid Pandemic

Srinagar, May 12 (UNI) Director Sheri-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Prof Parvaiz A Koul on Thursday lauded nursing workforce for their dedication and significant contribution during the Covid Pandemic.

Koul was speaking during the occasion of International Nurses Day being celebrated at SKIMS today, lauding the nursing workforce for their dedication and significant contribution during the pandemic was a glaring example of commitment and dedication.
He said “In healthcare structure a Nurse is important and plays a main role in managing the comforts of the patient”.

He said that Nurses should focus on their skill enhancement, impart discipline and added that SKIMS will organize “Life Support Courses” in coordination with the Skill Development Department for better and efficient patient care.

The Department of Nursing Administration SKIMS celebrated “International Nurses Day” to commemorate the birth anniversary of “Florence Nightingale”, pioneer of modern nursing with a focus on this year’s theme “Nurses- A Voice to Lead- Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health”.

Dean Medical Faculty, SKIMS, Prof. Tariq Gojwari, hailed the role of nursing Administration and applauded them for their contribution towards patient care and said that they play pivotal roles in healing the patient.

Medical Superintendent, SKIMS, Dr. Farooq A. Jan asserted that the role of “Nurse” in patient care management is significant and this area of critical importance needs to be prioritized for efficient delivery in better patient care.

Gursharan Kour, incharge Nursing Superintendent, welcomed the guests and thanked administration of SKIMS for continuous support.
