Don’t let hopelessness prevail among the people: Mehbooba to party leaders

In the wake of the recent Supreme Court Order on Article 370, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday asked senior party leaders not to let hopelessness prevail among the people.

She also called for a united front to stand alongside the people during this critical juncture.

Mehbooba emphasized this during a meeting with senior leaders which was called to deliberate on the pressing issues facing the region, a party spokesman said, adding the discussions encompassed a wide array of measures for the future, aimed at addressing the challenges faced by the region and its inhabitants.

During the comprehensive discussion, the PDP Chief emphasized the critical need to prevent hopelessness from seeping into the hearts and minds of the people.

She reiterated that while political battles might bring unexpected outcomes, resilience and unity remain the strongest pillars to navigate through challenging times.

“In political battles, outcomes may not always align with our aspirations. However, we must not allow hopelessness to prevail. Unity, resilience, and solidarity with our people remain our guiding principles,” the former Chief Minister said.

Mehbooba reiterated her commitment to the welfare and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the need to navigate through this period with strength and unity.

Senior leaders, including Abdul Rehman Veeri, Choudhary Abdul Hameed, Mohammd Sartaj Madni, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Sardar Amreek Singh Reen, Asiya Naqash, Khurshid Iqbal, Abdul Gaffar Sofi, Naeem Akhtar, and youth president Waheed Para attended the meeting.
