Srinagar: An encounter has started in Kungnoo area of Shopian district of South Kashmir today.
The 15 core based army spokesman told The Legitimate that the joint operation by army and police was launched in Kungnoo area over the suspicious movement of militants.
As the area was cordoned, the militants fired upon the search party.
“So far no causality is reported. Since the militants fired upon the search party, the operation has been intensified to eliminate them. Apparently the militants seem hiding in the residential area,” the spokesman said.
