National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of creating hatred among the Hindus against the Muslims.

Addressing a poll rally in Srinagar’s Khanyar area in support of the NC’s Lok Sabha poll candidate Aga Ruhullah Abdullah said they were praying to God to bring him down

“To create fear among Hindus, he (Modi) is telling them that your mangalsutras will be snatched and sold to give money to Muslims. Are we so downtrodden that we will snatch mangalsutras from our mothers and sisters?,” the former chief Minister asked.

“He is telling them ( Hindus) that if you have some money saved in your house, it will be taxed. He is creating hatred among the Hindus against the Muslims. He also says Muslims produce more children. It is God who gives children? Many do not have. What does he know about children, when he does not have any? He did not even value his wife, how could he have valued his children,” Abdullah remarked.

He said Modi was trying to create fear among Hindus because when he came in 2014, he used to raise the issue of the price of LPG, price rise, and unemployment.

“Ten years have passed and you see the price of a gas cylinder is now 1100. In 2014 it was Rs 400. Diesel prices have risen, cooking oil prices have risen,” the NC President said.

Abdullah alleged that Modi is trying to create hatred in the country.

“We are against it and we pray to God to bring him down,” he said, asking the people to stay away from this divide.

Abdullah said they do not accept the decisions of August 5, 2019- the day when J&K’s special status was scrapped and the state was downgraded into two union territories.
