Srinagar: Terming the statement of former chief minister, Farooq Abdullah as historically incorrect, a spokesman of Hurriyat (M) Saturday said Kashmir is an internationally accepted disputed territory and the resolution of the dispute would be possible only by resolving it in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

Hurriyat (M) spokesperson said that Hurriyat stands for the re unification of all five regions of the state of Jammu Kashmir Which includes Kashmir, Jammu, Ladakh, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

He said nobody’s personal viewpoint could change the disputed character of Kashmir or change the political and historical realities of the issue.

Spokesman said there are United Nations resolutions on the issue and these resolutions maintain that only people of Jammu Kashmir have the right to decide about their future. He said the dispute can only be resolved either by implementing the UN resolutions or through a meaning full dialogue among the main stake holders i.e. the people of Kashmir, India and Pakistan.

He said while people of Kashmir had been giving countless sacrifices since 1947 for their genuine and just rights, pro-India politicians including Farooq Abdullah and their parties not only have been exploiting the people’s sentiments and emotions but also pushing them to the wall by resorting to undemocratic and inhuman tactics for their vested interest.
