First Rare Surgery Performed at SDH Pattan

Srinagar: Doctors in Sub District Hospital Pattan have performed a rare surgery on a male patient with breast.

“A 50-year-old male patient with idiopathic subareolar male breast abscess with gangrene was successfully operated by doctors. Such patients are very, very rare,” doctors in the hospital said.

The operative team included Dr Imtiaz Ahmed Wani (Surgeon specialist), Dr Zahoor Ahmed ( Consultant Anesthesia), Physician specialists involved in evlauation  were Dr Riyaz Dagga and Dr  Shakeel.

Theatre staff were   Younis, Haji Mudasir, Shabir and Tanveer.

Patient and his relatives have complimented the BMO for making this rare surgery achievable in hospital with  great success, avoided unnecessary  referral to tertiary care at Srinagar who are already overcrowded with referrals, doctors said. (KNS)
