A foreign worker was killed Wednesday in northern Israel by a rocket fired from Lebanon, Israel’s rescue service said, adding he was working in a field at the time.

The Magen David Adom rescue service identified the victim as a foreign national in his 40s but did not specify his nationality.

The worker was found unconscious, with severe shrapnel injuries, in an agricultural area near Kfar Masaryk, a kibbutz north of Haifa city, the service said. “He was pronounced dead at the scene,” it added.

The worker was killed when about 25 rockets were launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon into Israel in the evening.

He is the seventh foreign worker killed since the onset of the cross-border conflict between Hezbollah and Israeli forces last October, according to official Israeli figures.
