Amroha (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the BJP has fulfilled its promise of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and Mathura and Vrindavan will not be left behind.
Addressing a rally here, the Chief Minister said, “We had promised a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, the work has started… Are you happy?”
“Now in Kashi, a grand Vishwanath Dham is being made… How will Mathura and Vrindavan be left behind. Work is in progress there as well,” Adityanath said.
Ram temple is being constructed in Ayodhya following the November 9, 2021 Supreme Court order which said the disputed land be handed over to a trust to build the Temple. In Varanasi or Kashi, a redevelopment project of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham was undertaken by the government.
Adityanath also made reference to the 2008 Malegaon blast, and said that the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) tried to frame BJP and RSS leaders.
“You must have seen the statements of the ATS. BJP, RSS workers and leaders were being framed in false cases… you must have seen it in the Malegaon case,” he said.
“When Congress was in power they used to encourage terrorists and blame it on Hindu groups. Today, when they are out of power, they oppose every work that is in the interest of people,” he said.
The comments came after one of the witnesses in the 2008 case said in a court on Tuesday that he was pressured to name the current Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and four other RSS leaders in the case.
In Malegaon town of Maharashtra’s Nashik district, six people were killed and over 100 injured on September 29, 2008, when an explosive device on a motorcycle went off near a mosque in Nashik’s Malegaon town.
As Uttar Pradesh heads to polls next year, Adityanath has been holding public meetings and rallies on a daily basis in different parts of the state.
The BJP, which presently has 318 MLAs in the 403 seat assembly, has expressed confidence of winning over 300 seats once again in the upcoming polls.
