The Delhi High Court on Tuesday extended till July 10 the stay it had imposed on the bail granted to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case by the trial court on June 20.

A Vacation Bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain continued the stay and posted the matter for further hearing by a regular bench after the vacation on July 10.

The high court accepted Enforcement Directorate’s plea seeking suspension of Kejriwal’s bail order from the lower court.

In effect, the AAP leader would continue to remain in Tihar Jail for now.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court is likely to take up Kejriwal’s plea which he had filed earlier challenging the High Court’s June 21 decision to stay his bail.
