Hot and humid weather to continue even as night temperature recorded rise in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, the MeT officials said.
The MeT office forecast of mainly clear, hot and humid weather with a brief spell of showers may occur in some areas towards late afternoon or evening during the next 24 hours.
The day temperature in Jammu and Srinagar is expected to remain around 35°C and 30°C respectively today.
It said that intermittent light to moderate rain or showers at many places in Jammu and Kashmir from July 5 evening to July 7.
Srinagar recorded a low of 19.0°C against 18.3°C on the previous night and it was 1.9°C above normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Qazigund, had a low of 17.0°C against 16.4°C on the previous night and it was 1.5°C above normal for the gateway of Kashmir.
Pahalgam recorded a low of 11.5°C against 10.2°C on the previous night and it was above normal by 0.7°C for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kupwara settled at 16.7°C against 15.5°C on the previous night and it was above normal by 1.2°C for the frontier north Kashmir district.
Kokernag recorded a low of 16.7°C against 16.1°C on the previous night and it was 1.8°C above normal for the famous picnic spot of the valley.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 13.4°C against 11.2°C on the previous night and it was 2.5°C above normal for the world-famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the MeT office said.
