India to lead Global deep-tech revolution through innovation and courage: LG Manoj Sinha at IIT Bhilai Convocation

 Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, graced and addressed the Annual Convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, today, highlighting India’s growing leadership in innovation and technology-driven development.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the prime objective of science and technology is to improve people’s lives and drive economic growth through cutting-edge innovation.

“Cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and automation are still in relatively early stages, and we are now entering a new phase of acceleration that will define the future of growth and development,” the LG said.

He underscored that India has emerged as a global leader in key areas of innovation and has successfully built a dynamic technology ecosystem that positions the nation to lead the deep-tech ventures of the world.

Urging the graduating students to become pioneers and innovators, LG Sinha said, “Explore new ground, follow unconventional paths, and have the courage to know the unknown. Where there is fearlessness, there is invention. Where there is courage, there is new scientific discovery.”

He encouraged young engineers and scientists to develop practical solutions that advance industries and national progress, converting scientific and technical principles into real-world tools that drive innovation and growth.

Highlighting the vast opportunities ahead, the Lieutenant Governor said that demand for professionals in generative design, predictive maintenance, renewable energy, green technology, aerospace, biotechnology, automation, and healthcare is rapidly increasing.

“Scientists and engineers across the world are competing to discover new frontiers of technology. You must carve your own space in this global race and leave a lasting, positive impact,” he told the graduates.

Referring to India’s thriving startup ecosystem, the LG noted, “Nearly 89% of our startups are engaged in technological innovation, and through the Seven Pillars of the AI Mission, India will usher in a new revolution in agriculture, healthcare, climate resilience, and governance. This is truly a golden period for graduating students.”

The Lieutenant Governor also lauded Bhilai’s historic contribution to the nation’s industrial development, urging IIT Bhilai to carry forward this legacy and act as a catalyst in shaping the future of India’s technical education landscape.(KINS)
