Iran declared it won the war with the United States after Washington accepted Iran’s 10-point peace plan, the Supreme National Security Council said on Wednesday.
“Iran achieved a great victory and forced the US to accept the 10-point plan,” the council was quoted as saying by Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that he had agreed to a two-week bilateral ceasefire with Iran. The US leader noted that Iran had also agreed to guarantee the safety of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US also agreed to leave control over the Strait of Hormuz to Iran.
“The United States recognises the principle of non-aggression against Iran, recognises Iran’s continued control over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s continued enrichment of uranium, the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, the termination of all UN Security Council and IAEA Board of Governors resolutions, and agrees to the payment of compensation to Iran, as well as the withdrawal of American troops from the Middle East and the end of the war on all fronts,” the statement added.
