In a major operation, the Jammu District Administration today carried out an anti-encroachment and demolition drive, reclaiming land worth crores of rupees in village Sikanderpur, Bishnah, on the outskirts of the city.
Officials stated that the drive was carried out under the directives of District Magistrate Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, in coordination with SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh.
“The recovered land, measuring approximately 130 kanals, had been illegally occupied, with unauthorized structures erected by encroachers and individuals booked under the NDPS Act,” officials said.
The administration has issued a stern warning against illegal occupation of state land, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against violators. “The retrieved land will be handed over to the concerned departments. A portion is proposed to be developed for Niabat, Patwar Halqa, and a Police Post,” they added.
The anti-encroachment drive was conducted under the supervision of SDM Jammu South, Manu Hansa, and Superintendent of Police HQ Jammu, Irshad Rather, with the presence of Tehsildar Bishnah, Ankush Tripathi; SDPO R S Pura, Gurmeet Singh; SHO Bishnah, Rakesh Jamwal; and other officials from the Revenue and Police departments.
