Jammu, May 12 (UNI) The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha on Thursday vehemently denounced the dastardly killing of Rahul Bhat who was working as a Prime Minister’s package employee in Tehsildar office Budgam by terrorists in broad daylight.
President Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Jammu, K K Khosa in a statement said that the killing took place at a time when the tourist season is at its peak and was being touted as the return of normalcy to Kashmir valley.
The killing has sent shock waves within the minorities especially the Kashmiri Pandits working in the valley and also the entire Kashmiri Pandit community across the nation and abroad, he said adding that only a few days back the state security establishment had reeled out figures showing that the number of terrorists had gone down to a record lowest level and that they are in full control of the situation.
“This killing has exposed the utter weakness of the entire security system which lies in shambles today,” he added and said that this is yet another killing of minorities in the series of killings that have been taking place during the past one year with regularity.
Strangely no heads have rolled and no accountability has been fixed at any level of administration which is totally unacceptable.
The Kashmiri Pandit community, especially the PM package employees have been reduced to the level of sitting ducks as the administration keeps waiting for the next killing to take place. The UT government continues to remain unmoved and clueless about how to control the situation, he alleged.
He said that the UT government is not even able to trace the people who keep threatening the minorities with dire consequences over social media.

“The sabha demands that adequate security should be deployed in such places which are vulnerable and measures taken to flush out terrorists who have been striking at will from time to time,” said Khosa further demanding that the confidence level of PM package employees is at its lowest ebb and they should be allowed to work from home for the time being.
