Police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler with contraband of poppy straw in Jhajjar Kotli area here in the city outskirts.
Police spokesman said that a police team under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and led by Station House Officer, Inspector Vikram Sharma during a duty rounded up one suspect coming from Srinagar towards Jammu.
On search, 4.1 Kgs of Poppy straw was recovered from him in the truck and the accused was identified as Mohd. Saleem of Bhatidhar, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch was arrested on the spot.
Further investigation of the case is going on, police added.
