Jammu, May 14 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted a fresh spell of rain on May 16 as hot weather conditions prevailed in the plains of Jammu.
The maximum temperature recorded in Jammu on Saturday was 41.8 degree Celsius.
“Expect Respite from hot weather especially in plains of Jammu from May 16 as a spell of Light to Moderate Rain and Thunderstorm is most likely at many places of Jammu and Kashmir during May 16 evening to May 18,” said a MeT official.

He said that at some places, thunderstorms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and Hailstorm mainly on May 16-17.
Thereafter, there’s no forecast of any major rainfall but temperature will again rise gradually from May 19, he added.
However, the minimum temperature in Jammu was 25.2 degrees Celsius. Katra recorded maximum temperature of 37.6 degrees and the minimum was 33.3 degrees, tourist spot Bhaderwah recorded 32.8 degrees and the minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees, Kathua recorded maximum temperature 39.6 degrees and minimum temperature of 36.7 degrees.
