The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has issued a provisional calendar for the upcoming Budget session, set to commence on March 3 with the Governor’s address.

For the first time in seven years, an elected government will present the budget, scheduled for March 7, according to the document released by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather.

The session will begin with a discussion on the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address on March 4 and 5.

This will be followed by discussions on the motion of thanks on the Lieutenant Governor’s address and the subsequent reply on March 6.

The Annual Financial Statement of Expenditure for the financial year 2025-26, along with the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2024-25, will be presented in the Assembly on March 7.(KINS)
