J&K : Class 12th results sees 70 pc pass rate

Girls fared better than boys in the Class 12th examination of Summer Zone- the result of which was declared on Thursday by the Jammu and Kashmir School Board of Education.
As per official gazette, a total 70 percent of the students passed the examination, out of which 75 percent are girls and 65 percent are boys.
In total, 53,939 students appeared in the examination, out of which 37,356 students passed while 16,148 students got distinction, 14,781 students secured first division, 6357 students secured second division, 250 students secured third division, 15,444 students have to re-appear, and 959 students have been declared failed.
The Jammu and Kashmir Education Board, Chairperson, Veena Pandita has congratulated the passed students and wished good luck to those who are to re-appear in the exams or failed in the examination.
As per the merit list, 75 percent students have got distinction, 60 percent got first division, while 48 percent children have got second division.
The Class XII examination of the Jammu and Kashmir Education Board had started on May 23 and concluded on June 16.
