At least one person died and another was injured when a cloudburst occurred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday, officials said.
They said the cloudburst hit the Panward Bala area in Damhal Hanjipora, killing one man and injuring another.
The deceased, a shepherd, has been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Chouhan, and the injured, identified as Rafakat Ahmad Chouhan, has been shifted to a nearby medical facility. Both the deceased and injured hail from the Panward area of Kulgam.
The duo was in their tent when the cloudburst hit the area.
Soon after the incident, police and locals of the area launched a rescue operation in the area.
