Srinagar, May 13 (UNI) A day after the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit employee which sparked protests, the J&K Government constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe “all aspects” of the attack.
The government also attached the Station House Officer of the area.
“A decision has been taken to constitute special investigative team to probe all the aspects of the despicable terror attack. The SHO of the concerned police station has also been attached,” the office of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said in a tweet.
He also announced that the J&K administration will provide a government job to Rahul Bhat’s wife in Jammu and financial assistance to the family.
“The government will bear educational expenses of the daughter,” LG said.
Rahul Bhat was shot dead in a targeted attack inside his office premises at Chadoora in Budgam in broad daylight on Thursday. Police had said two militants were involved in this heinous crime.
Meanwhile, amid social media reports that over 300 Kashmiri Pandit employees who have taken up jobs in Kashmir under the Prime Minister’s package, have forwarded resignations, J&K government said no such letters have been received by them.
“The social media reports of resignations by Migrant employees are denied as no such letter of resignation(s) have been received by the administration. Service related issues are being addressed in a time bound manner in a weeks time,” a tweet by Deputy Commissioner Budgam said.
