A hotel was partially damaged in fire at tourist haven Pahalgam in Jammu Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Fire and emergency service officials said that all the tourists staying in the hotel at the time of the fire incident were safely rescued and no one was injured in the incident.
They said the fire broke out in the three storied Sheshnag hotel in south Kashmir around 8 am and caused extensive damage to its attic portion.
Fire tenders were rushed from the nearby fire stations of Pahalgam to douse the leaping flames, they said, and added the timely action by the fire fighting men saved the hotel from major damage.
The cause of the fire is being ascertained, they added.
