A Personal Security Officer (PSO) of former MLA and Apni Party leader Ashraf Mir was injured in an alleged accidental firing incident in Srinagar today, officials said.
They said the policeman identified as Mehraj-ud-din sustained a bullet injury during routine handling of firearms at the residence of Apni Party leader Mir in Srinagar.
The injured PSO was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable.
Officials said an inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the misfire.
