Three people were injured on Thursday when a retaining wall along a road near the banks of the Lidder River in Pahalgam resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, collapsed onto a wooden shed.
Police said the huge retaining wall gave in due to rainfall and buried the wooden shed at Taxi Stand Pahalgam along with the three occupants.
A major rescue operation was launched and the three persons were evacuated under the debris in an injured condition, police said adding after providing first aid all the three were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for advancement treatment.
The injured have been identified as Taxi driver Farooq Ahmad Ganai, a resident of Bemina Srinagar, Mohammad Yousuf Jara of Lehandagam Pahalgam and Aijaz Ahmad Jothad of Hokhard Botkote.
