Shimla, (UNI): Himachal Pradesh Police claimed Friday a hand grenade was recovered from the muck near the National Highway 44, Senior officer of state police informed UNI.
A grenade was recovered from the muck near the side of NH-44 at Damtal in Himachal Pradsesh Friday morning. Police sized the ammunition after it was found lying exposed in the muck strewn on the road due to heavy rainfall.
Superintendent of Police Kushal Sharma told UNI that grenade was taken in possession by the Kangra police. Further investigation is being done. A dog squad was deployed on the NH-44 which is a major north–south National Highway in India, the longest in the country and passes through the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
