Srinagar, May 14 (UNI) Students and scholars of Kashmir University on Saturday staged a protest against the sacking of a Kashmir University professor for his alleged militant links
On Friday, J&K Government terminated services of three of its employees including a Kashmir University professor Altaf Hussain Pandit.

A group of students staged a sit in at the KU campus, witnesses said.
They were holding placards against the termination of Altaf. The students appealed government to reconsider the decision.
Even as government has been terminating services of many of the employees for being threat to security, it is for the first time that protests erupted against the termination of a government employee.
During the protest, the university authorities closed the campus gates.
