Locals Accuse MLA Pattan of Failing to Deliver on Election Promises

Locals from Pattan and adjoining areas have expressed strong resentment against the MLA Pattan, alleging that he has failed to deliver on the assurances he made during the election campaign.

Inhabitants told CNS that more than a year has passed since the MLA took office, yet no progress has been made on key commitments related to healthcare, education and basic administration. They alleged that the MLA neither followed his manifesto nor took concrete steps to address long-pending public issues.

Locals said that the promised upgradation of the local hospital to a Sub District Hospital has not materialised. They also complained that several posts of doctors and paramedical staff at CHC Pattan remain vacant, despite the region being under a government with its own Health Minister. The shortage of manpower, they said, forces patients to travel to other hospitals for treatment.

They further alleged that the Municipal Committee Pattan has been without an officer for a considerable period, while the Education Zone Pattan has been functioning without a Zonal Education Officer. According to locals, the absence of key officials has severely impacted both developmental works and the education system in the area.

The inhabitants accused the MLA of shifting focus away from core public issues after his victory. They claimed he has been busy attending photo sessions and events in other regions instead of addressing the problems of Pattan.

Locals said the ongoing beautification of the Pattan market was a previously sanctioned project and not part of any new initiative by the MLA. They urged him to prioritise development, fulfil his commitments and address the pressing concerns of the constituency. (CNS)
