LS Election: BJP files compliant with EC against Andhra CM

 A BJP delegation led by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh on Tuesday filed a complaint with Election Commission over the alleged misuse of state machinery by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in connection with the Lok Sabha election.

The delegation comprising, Om Pathak, Telugu Desam Party Member K. Raveendra Kumar, Jana Sena Party Chairperson N. Manohar and other leaders of the party.

Speaking to the media outside the Commission office, after the meeting, Arun Singh said, “The delegation has demanded an investigation into the alleged attempt to pressurize the state machinery to work in favour of the state government”.

He said they have also demanded videography at sensitive poll stations and deployment of the central police force.

Jana Sena Party Chairperson N. Manohar said the delegation has urged the election commission to take immediate steps with regard to the situation in Andhra Pradesh. Telugu Desam Party Member K. Raveendra Kumar expressed concern over the violation of the Model Code of Conduct by the ruling YSRCP government.

The voting in Andhra Pradesh will take place on May 13 for the Lok Sabha election.

According to the election commission, the last date to file the nominations will be April 25 and scrutiny of nominations will be on the next day.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, YSRCP had won 22 seats and the TDP emerged victorious in 3 seats.
