Aurangabad, May 1 (UNI) MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday said that loudspeakers are not religious instruments but a social issue that disturbs people and urged the people to recite the Hannuman Chalisa in double the volume compared to Azan in front of mosques after May 4 onwards. While addressing a well attended public rally at Marathwada Sanskrutik Mandal Ground here this evening he said that, I did not suddenly raise the issue of remove the loudspeakers. Many have raised this issue of bongas before me. I repeat that loudspeakers are not religious instruments but a social issue. If loudspeakers in mosques can be taken down in Uttar Pradesh, why not in Maharashtra, If we give religious color to it, we will give the same answer, he warned. The whole of Maharashtra was focused on this meeting. A large number of MNS workers from all over the state had come to attend this meeting and to listen to Raj Thackeray About 3,000 policemen were deployed to ensure that no untoward incident happened.
Raj Thackeray in his speech first criticized casteism and NCP chief Sharad Pawar. After that, the issue of water in Aurangabad was raised as well. Talking about the public rally here he said that it was decided to hold a meeting in Aurangabad and also in every district of Marathwada.
Similar meetings will be held in Vidarbha, Konkan and North Maharashtra to highlight public issues. In Aurangabad drinking water comes once in ten days. All questions are pending. But I’m going to talk about some of today’s major issues, he added.
