Holding interview of doctors in Jammu unfair: DAK
Srinagar: Pitching for the aggrieved doctors who have applied for different for lectures in SKIMS and whose interview is to be conducted in Jammu, doctors body Wednesday demanded that the interview should be held in Kashmir.
Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) said that the decision of the government was unfair.
“It is unfortunate to know that for convenience of some officials, interview for hundreds of doctors will be conducted in Jammu,” President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement to KNS, issued by the body’s spokesman Dr Riyaz Ahmad Daga.
The medicos’ body said that calling huge number of specialist doctors of Kashmir to Jammu for interview will affect the functioning of hospitals.
“These doctors are the backbone of tertiary care hospitals and calling them to Jammu will affect patient care. It is unethical and unacceptable to jeopardize the lives of patients for comfort of some officials,” Dr Nisar said.
DAK slammed the SKIMS head for “misleading people by saying that holding interview at Jammu is the decision of Chief Secretary.”
“In order to manage the entry of his close relative, Director SKIMS has shifted the interview venue to Jammu. He has cancelled the interview for the post of lectures four times as his daughter-in-law was not eligible then and now she is eligible and he is rushing for the interview,” doctors alleged. (KNS)
