Mehbooba Mufti criticises OIC over ‘silence’ on Iran attack

Former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday strongly criticised the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), accusing it of remaining a “mute spectator” amid what she described as blatant aggression against Iran.

In a post on X, Mehbooba expressed deep concern over the OIC’s stance, stating, “It is deeply disturbing that the OIC stands as a mute spectator while America and Israel commit blatant aggression against the sovereignty of Iran.”

She further alleged that the organisation had failed to condemn what she termed as attacks on Iran’s leadership. “Its silence on the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, and its attempt to shift blame onto Iran, is not only alarming but disgraceful,” she wrote.

“Instead of condemning this brazen attack on Iran , it has chosen silence, covertly endorsing the actions of the Epstein gang. This represents a grave betrayal of the collective conscience and interests of the Muslim Ummah,” she added.

The OIC is the second-largest intergovernmental organisation after the United Nations, comprising 57 member states across four continents.
