Militants give slip to forces in Palhallan

Srinagar: The militants managed to give slip to the security forces in North Kashmir’s volatile Palhallan town today evening amid massive protests by the locals against the search and combing operation.

 Sources told The Legitimate following the inputs about the presence of militants, the 29 Rashtriya Rifles and after Special Operation Group cordoned off Raipora village and started the search operation. However, sources said that the local youths resisted the forces move and pelted stones over them. As the protests intensified and protesters pelted stones over them, the forces resorted to aerial firing and tear gas shelling to contain the situation. However, eye witnesses said that the protests occurred after forces thrashed allegedly some local youth during search operation.

Meanwhile, the sources said that the two militants who were reportedly trapped managed to flee the spot.

However, the police maintained silence about the incident. The situation was tense in the area when last reports poured in.
