Mufti to Chair First-Ever TAB Meeting in Pahalgam Tomorrow

Srinagar: After the formation of Tourism Advisory Board (TAB) recently by the government, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will tomorrow preside over the first-ever meeting of the board at picturesque Pahalgam.

The agenda of the meeting will be to discuss and lay a broad road map about making Jammu and Kashmir a real tourism destination in the world, KNS has learnt.

Sources told KNS that chief minister, who is the chairman of the Board, will fly from Jammu to Srinagar tomorrow morning and will travel to Pahalgam to preside over the meeting.

All the top officials of the tourism department will be attending the vital meeting.

"The main objective of the meeting is how to promote J&K on the world tourism map. How to attract tourists to Kashmir as world believes that last years floods have devastated the beauty of the place. Finding and developing potential tourism places in the state will also come up in the meeting. All other plans to boost tourism will also be discussed," sources said.

Mufti, who has kept Tourism ministry portfolio with him, has promised to all stakeholders in the sector that he will make Kashmir a top tourism destination in the world.

"Forming Tourism Advisory Board was the idea of the chief minister as he is very keen to involve all the tour operators to have a say for the promotion and development of the sector, so that tourism becomes one of the backbones of our economy," a top official told KNS. (KNS)
