Omar Abdullah Expresses Gratitude to Armed Forces, Pledges Continued Support

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Armed Forces for their selfless service to the nation, particularly their contributions to Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking at the ‘Veterans Day’ event in Akhnoor, Abdullah reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the welfare of armed forces personnel and their families.

During his address, Omar Abdullah acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces, highlighting their pivotal role in safeguarding the country.

“The Armed Forces have given their lives for the nation and have taken care of this country. It is our duty to stand by you and your families whenever you face any challenges,” he said.

The event was attended by prominent leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, ministers Satish Sharma and Javid Rana, MP Jugal Kishor Sharma, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and GOC Northern Command Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar.

Omar Abdullah underscored the importance of acknowledging the contributions of the armed forces, describing their dedication as the foundation of the nation’s security and progress. “It is because of your efforts that our nation is excelling. I assure you that the government is committed to supporting you in every possible way, whether through recruitment drives, financial assistance, or administrative initiatives,” he stated.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the inclusive approach of his government, pointing to the presence of a minister in his cabinet who comes from a military family. “With this understanding and perspective, we will work diligently to address your concerns and support your needs,” he added. (CNS)
