Maharashtra state cabinet has taken a decision in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday to relax the condition of non-cremelayer certificate for selection of reserved posts for open group women as well as all backward class women.
The meeting was presided by the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
During the recruitment process for the post of Professor through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPCC) for the post of Unreserved (Female) the female candidate above Merit No. 3 was not selected without a non Cremelayer certificate Merit No. 6 above candidate was selected.
The qualification for this post was fixed as three years of experience in the post of Associate Professor. Considering the pay of this post, though it would be more than the existing Non-Cremelayer limit, the candidates with Non-Cremelayer certificate were getting the benefit of being selected in this open category female reserved post.
As this benefit should be available to women candidates of all categories, it needs to be amended. Accordingly, non-cremelayer certificate will not be required for open category women as well as all backward category women for selection to the posts reserved for open category women.
