Srinagar: After the death of an army officer in a deadly assault by militants on army installation in Tangdhar region of Kupwara district of north Kashmir, the para troops have been airdropped to battle out the militants.
The army sources that the para troops have been airlifted following the massive exchange of fire between militants and army which is still going on.
So far JCO has been killed while a colonial and a soldier have sustained injuries in an ongoing gun fight. The militants who launched an assault on the army installation are reportedly hiding in ridges and therefore, making difficult for army to eliminate them. In an attack the oil depot of the army has also caught fire.
