PDP’s Delay In Forming Government Won’t Change Modi: Farooq Abdullah

Former Chief Minister and president National Conference (NC), Dr Farooq Abdullah on Sunday said that PDP’s delay in forming government would not change Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While talking to KNS over phone from Ahmadabad, Gujarat, Farooq said that the delay in government formation and putting conditions before BJP won’t change Modi. “The viewpoint of PDP to change Modi is erroneous,” he said.
Terming PDP as power hungry, Abdullah said, “PDP is using tactics by saying that they want assurance from central government over the rights of people. If they were serious about it then why did they forge an alliance with BJP after getting mandate in 2014 assembly elections.”
Abdullah told media that PDP has earlier assured people that they will not allow BJP to rule Kashmir but after getting peoples support, the claims proved hoax and exposed PDP of being power hungry.
The former chief minister said that NC did not approach BJP to form government.
“NC has no mandate to form the dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir and has never approached anyone to forge an alliance with u,” he said, adding, the people in the state have elected PDP and BJP and “it is in their hands to take step over forming the new dispensation in the state,” he said.
While pitching for re-elections in the state, he said, “PDP should go for re-elections to end the governor rule and the current political stalemate in the state.” adding that if PDP is serious to take step according to the aspirations of people then they should choose the path and policy of former chief minister, late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
He said that people should think now whether giving mandate to PDP was a good step or not.(Agencies)
