PM Modi hails Jharkhand's culture and courage on Statehood Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday conveyed his warm wishes to the people of Jharkhand as the state marks its Foundation Day on November 15.

The day is especially significant as it also commemorates the birth anniversary of revered tribal leader Lord Birsa Munda.

The Prime Minister took to platform X to share his greetings, focusing on Jharkhand’s rich tribal heritage and historical courage. Jharkhand was carved out of the southern part of Bihar in the year 2000.

In his message, PM Modi specifically praised the state’s cultural depth and history.

“Heartfelt greetings to all the residents of the glorious state of Jharkhand, enriched with tribal culture, on the occasion of the state’s foundation day,” the Prime Minister stated.

He further linked the state’s identity to its greatest historical figure, Lord Birsa Munda, acknowledging the deep impact of tribal bravery on the land’s history.

“The history of this land of Lord Birsa Munda is filled with tales of courage, struggle, and self-respect.

Today, on this special occasion, I extend my wishes for the progress and prosperity of the state along with all my family members in the state,” he concluded, wishing the state well.

The Prime Minister’s tribute highlighted the day’s double importance—celebrating the state’s formation and honouring the legacy of tribal sacrifices that define its unique identity.
