PM Modi to Distribute Over 51,000 Appointment Letters at 19th Rozgar Mela on May 23

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in various government departments and organisations on Saturday, May 23, under the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, the government said on Friday.

According to an official statement, the Prime Minister will distribute the appointment letters via video conferencing at 11 AM and will also address the newly inducted recruits during the event.

The Rozgar Mela, launched as part of the Centre’s employment generation drive, is aimed at providing job opportunities to youth across the country and expediting recruitment in government departments. The government said the initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to prioritising employment creation.

“The Rozgar Mela is a major initiative aimed at translating the Prime Minister’s vision of employment generation into reality,” the statement said.

The 19th Rozgar Mela will be organised at 47 locations across the country, with candidates selected from different states and regions of India joining various ministries and departments of the Government of India.

The newly recruited candidates will take up positions in several key departments, including the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services, and the Department of Higher Education, among others.

The government said that since the launch of the initiative, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been issued through 18 Rozgar Melas conducted nationwide.

The Rozgar Mela initiative has been one of the flagship programmes of the Centre to address employment concerns while strengthening manpower across government institutions. The recruitment drives are conducted in coordination with various ministries and departments to fill vacancies in a time-bound manner.

The event comes amid the government’s continued emphasis on public sector recruitment and skill-based employment opportunities for the youth.
