PM Modi to launch Int’l Big Cats Alliance on Apr 9

In a bid to protect and conserve seven major big cats of the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA) Bandipur National Park Karnataka on Sunday.

IBCA will focus on protection and conservation of seven major big cats of the world, viz. Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Puma, Jaguar and Cheetah.

The alliance will be announced to mark the 50 years of Project Tiger, which was launched in November 1973.

Prime Minister Modi in July 2019, had made a clarion call to form an alliance of Global Leaders to obliterate demand and firmly curb poaching and illegal Wildlife trade in Asia.
