Lucknow, May 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday advised the Ministers in Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh to remain accessible to the people, listen to the problems and be transparent in their style of working.
“Be innovative in your style of working. Give something new to the department, so that the benefits can reach a wider section of the society,” Modi said in his interaction with the Ministers during dinner meeting with them at the CM residence here.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the “most important” aspects that need to be focussed on are efficient governance, delivery and implementation of schemes and programmes. He asked the Cabinet Ministers to take the Ministers of State along and give them “proper” work, so that they feel involved.
“Expectations of people are high… Different sections have different priorities. Every section is important,” he said, giving an indication that this meeting was a prelude to the preparation of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
It was the first meeting of the Prime Minister with the state Cabinet Ministers after the formation of Yogi government 2.0. At the end of last year, the Prime Minister visited Lucknow to attend the All India DGP’s Conference and stayed here for three days. That time, he stayed in Raj Bhawan and did not have interaction with Ministers of the then Yogi cabinet.
In his over-an-hour-long meeting with the Ministers, the Prime Minister emphasised on the importance of Uttar Pradesh in making India a global power. “UP has the answer to all the problems India is facing. A strong UP would mean a strong India,” he added.
