Police Arrest 3 Cheaters Collecting Money for Dead Girl

Srinagar:  Police Sunday said it arrested three cheaters who were collecting donation for a girl who had died two months ago.

A police spokesman said a police party from Police Station Awantipora headed by Sub Inspector Bilal Ahmad arrested three cheaters at Jawbera in Awantipora after receiving complaints from the locals.

The three cheaters were identified as Bilal Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Ahad Khan of Magam Agri Kalan, Ghulam Hassan Khan alias Hussa Khan son of Khazir Mohammad of Dadie Kadal, Srinagar and Abdul Rashid Misger son of Ghulam Mohammad of Nowshera,  at present residing in Fatah Kadal in Srinagar, the spokesman said.

“These cheaters were collecting donation (money) for a girl on the pretext that she has kidney failure,” he said.

“On preliminary enquiry, it came to fore that the girl for whom they were collecting the money had died before two months. An amount of Rs 741 cash and an Auto rickshaw bearing registration number KMT-1496, loud speaker and a banner has been recovered from their possession,” he said, adding police has registered a case FIR number 133/2015 under section 420 and investigation was taken up.
