Srinagar: (UNI) A policeman and a soldier were injured in an ongoing encounter in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, official sources said here.
They said the gunfight broke out this evening at Nowgam village in Shahabad, Dooru when a joint team of police, Army and CRPF launched a search operation following information about the presence of militants.
“In the initial gunfight, a policeman and a soldier were wounded. The two have been shifted to hospital. The operation is underway,” they said.
Police has so far said that a cop was injured in the gunfight.
