Reports said that the angry posters also hurled bricks and stones towards his ancestral home at Baba Mohalla of Bijbhera while passing through the area along with body of slain militants.

Witnesses said that a Pakistan flag was also hoisted on the house in Baba Mohalla area of Bijbehara – hometown of the CM. Three local militants Adil, Arif and Aamir of Bijbehara were killed in an encounter with government forces.

However, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) termed the act routine in prevailing Kashmir situation and said whosoever violates law of land will be punished.

“This was not the first time that the Pakistani flags were waved. These incidents have taken place in past as well. Many flags have been waved here at different times. Some people wave Pakistani flags, some Indian flags, some other flags,” Imran Ansari told KNS on the sidelines of press conference which he addressed at his Srinagar residence.

He however said that if the law has been violated, then government will act on it. “They can raise the flags on my house. They have raised the flag on Shiekh Abdullah’s house,” he added
