Protestors blamed that Momin Hussain Khosaa of Gurpoora Khushki and Ab Hamid Kaloo was ruthlessly beaten by the police on Monday evening when they went out late night yesterday to bring some medicines from the chemists shop.

The protestors also accused police for lodging an FIR against the duo after falsely impliacting charges on them.

“My son is innocent and he was picked up by police for his no fault. Late evening on Monday he ventured out to get some medicines from chemists near local police station. But the police beat him to pulp and detained in lockup,” said Father Nazir Ahmad Khoosa.

The locals protested for the whole day and sought the immediate release of the two boys.

Meanwhile, the SHO, Syed Mubarak denied the allegations and said that boys were illegally supplying the construction material in the dark of night to some people for building houses in green belt zone around Dal Lake.

“Our police party was patrolling the area and when they were spotted they attempted to run and attacked our party. They were carrying construction material along for construction purposes around Dal Lake against the High Court ruling,” he told The Legitimate.

“A case has been registered against them under section 147/353 and further investigations are underway.”
